Phi Theta Kappa, benefactors Lou and Rosemary Oberndorf, and the 2011-2012 International Officers are proud to announce the creation of the Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Scholarship, developed specifically to assist community college students facing unanticipated and severe financial barriers to college completion. Your gift to endow this new scholarship will be doubled, thanks to a one-to-one match by the Oberndorfs.
Unexpected life challenges – caused by natural disasters, downsizing, sudden illnesses and unanticipated circumstances – can have severe financial consequences for community college students, leaving them with no choice but to drop out of school.

Double Your Dollars!
Now you can help! The Oberndorf Completion Challenge seeks to raise $125,000 to endow the Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Scholarship. Your donation will be matched one-to-one by Lou and Rosemary Oberndorf to create a $250,000 scholarship endowment. That’s doubling your donation!
- $10 becomes $20
- $25 becomes $50
- $75 becomes $150
Help us meet this goal and help your fellow members succeed in completing a college credential! Make your donations today.
Fundraising Ideas:
- Make a chapter gift equal to $1 for every member.
- Ask for $1 donations from persons who sign the Commitment to Complete on your campus.
- Contact your college foundation or college administration to see if they would match your chapter contribution.
- Ask for $1 donations from graduates and persons attending your college commencement.
- Visit community leaders and local businessmen to gain their financial support.
Participating chapters will be eligible for a drawing to have Phi Theta Kappa Executive Director Dr. Rod Risley attend your C4 event or have a “Meet and Greet” with him at the Annual Convention in Nashville. Deadline is March 30, 2012.
