The first awards will be given in 2013 thanks to the generosity of Rosemary & Lou Oberndorf.

Phi Theta Kappa, benefactors Lou and Rosemary Oberndorf, and the 2011-2012 International Officers are proud to announce the creation of the Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Scholarship, developed specifically to assist community college students facing unanticipated and severe financial barriers to college completion. Your gift to endow this new scholarship will be doubled, thanks to a one-to-one match by the Oberndorfs.
Unexpected life challenges – caused by natural disasters, downsizing, sudden illnesses and unanticipated circumstances – can have severe financial consequences for community college students, leaving them with no choice but to drop out of school.

On April 14, we announced that we had reached our $125,000 goal for the Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Matching Challenge! With meeting this challenge, a $250,000 endowment has now been established. During our Annual Convention in Nashville, the Oberndorfs RENEWED the Challenge for another one-to-one match, up to an additional $125,000, which will create a $500,000 endowment. That’s doubling your donation!
